The Discovery SHDSL modem family consists of SHDSL routers and bridges that comply with the ITU-T G.991.2 standard, and are based on either TDM or ATM technology. The modems are optimized for the use in point-to-point as well as point-to-multipoint applications. The SHDSL interface provides business-class, multi-range bandwidth starting from 64kbps to 2.304Mbps/5.7Mbps for the 2-wire model and from 128Kbps to 4.608Mbps/11.4Mbps for the 4-wire devices with symmetric payload rates. The TDM based Discovery modems provide transparent bridging functionality, while the ATM based Discovery in addition supports comprehensive routing functionality with advanced functions such as multi-DMZ, virtual server mapping, VPN pass-through and firewall.
Easy management and installation as well as interoperability with most common DSLAMs in the market make the ATM Discovery the first choice for operators.
In addition to its high effective data throughput, the TDM Discovery offers users the advantage to connect their analog telephone sets directly into the modem, without the hassle of additional splitters.
