Router LTE Teldat 4GeIntroduction Teldat – 4Ge WWAN backup

WWAN is ideal for backing up your fixed line connection! Speed and latency are no longer a drawback thanks to 3.7G and especially 4G technologies, as they are now similar to fixed lines although the reliability/resilience is much better. Despite this, success can be difficult for the following reasons:

  • A fixed router without WWAN support is already installed and replacing it is unacceptable to the management or for economic reasons.
  • An additional WWAN backup router means double management cost.
  • WWAN coverage in a communications rack is bad and extension cables for antennas are expensive/difficult.

The Teldat-4Ge solves all these issues! It is not an “extra” router, instead an “appendix” for an existing one, but easily added to the installation because it uses an Ethernet connection.

Teldat – 4Ge WWAN backup – Product Highlight

  • It enables WWAN in any router (no slot required), and is 100% compatible as it’s standards based.
  • It avoids expensive coaxial cable installations, as it only uses an Ethernet connection.
  • No management is required (it acts as an “expansion” of any compact or modular router).
  • Minimalist design and PoE powered to be almost unperceivable in a wall or ceiling installation.
  • WWAN technology is rapidly evolving, future upgrades implies the replacement of a cheap Teldat-4Ge but does not involve the router itself.
  • Teldat 4Ge is an economical device, facilitating replacements due to changes in the constantly evolving WWAN technologies.

Teldat – 4Ge WWAN backup – Product description

The Teldat-4Ge is not a router. It is a device used by the existing router for WWAN connectivity. In fact, Teldat-4Ge can be seen as a WWAN expansion card for the existing router, but no slot is required as Teldat-4Ge connects with the router via Ethernet (using the existing LAN on site) and uses compatible protocols, so it is compatible with most routers.

Thus, Teldat-4Ge saves on expensive and annoying cable installations for antennas, instead it can be installed anywhere on site where the coverage is optimum both cheaply and quickly. Furthermore, its smart design and PoE feature take it that one step ahead. And because Teldat-4Ge is not a router, no management is needed. The fixed router saves its configuration and controls it as it would any other expansion card or interface inside the router itself.

Teldat – 4Ge WWAN backup – Key Features

  • It enables 3G/4G connectivity for any corporate router, even if the corporate router was not ready to support this technology.
  • Totally based on standards so it’s compatible with any existing corporate router.
  • Easy to achieve optimum 3G/4G coverage on site avoiding the expensive cost of coaxial cables for antennas.
  • The 3G/4G connection control is in corporate router, the Teldat-4Ge does not impose any constraints.
  • Future upgrades for WWAN technology implicating hardware upgrade does not involve the corporate router, only the cheaper device (Teldat-4Ge) needs to be replaced.
  • The Teldat-4Ge does not provoke any management costs. Configuration is saved on the existing corporate router and auto-provisioning is done from it via DHCP.
  • Simple to install: the Teldat-4Ge only needs a connection to the LAN, not even power source is needed because it can be fed from Ethernet (PoE powered), in the same way as an Access Point.
  • Desktop, wall or ceiling installation.
  • Discreet design to be almost unperceivable if installed in workplaces.
  • External SIM tray with anti-theft lid.
  • Two connectors for external antennas.
  • WWAN connectivity up to LTE/4G, with fallback to 3.7G, 3.5G, 3G or 2G.
  • Without fans, 0 db noise, for installation anywhere in the office.
